The Town of Richmond is seeking innovative, community-oriented candidates for the position of Patrol Sergeant. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be of sound physical and mental health, and hold - or be eligible for - a valid Maine driver’s license to complement their minimum 5 years full time law enforcement experience. In addition, selected candidates may be required to successfully navigate an oral board interview, a Chief’s interview, background investigation, psychological evaluation, medical assessment, and a polygraph examination.

This position is covered by the Town’s agreement with the Richmond Employees Association.

Richmond Public Works
The Town of Richmond is seeking candidates with demonstrated leadership abilities to direct the Town’s public works department. Position responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all Public Works operations and activities. The successful candidate will have significant experience in planning, scheduling and managing public works projects. The individual selected will be responsible for directing a public works department engaged in solid waste management, street improvement management, fleet management, street cleaning, park maintenance, snow removal, public storm water management and other related activities as may be required. Duties include, but are not limited to, budget preparation, development and implementation of departmental operating policies and procedures, bid preparation, purchasing, contract negotiations and contract management.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree (Civil Engineering preferred) in a position related field and three-years of progressively responsible experience managing public works type programs and staff and/or a combination of experience and training. Excellent labor management skills are a plus. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with local businesses and neighboring towns.
Richmond is centrally located on the beautiful Kennebec River with convenient interstate access to 295, just 20 miles from Augusta and 45 miles from the Portland jetport.
