Daniel Dunton
Dan was born and raised just down the road from us in Brunswick, Maine. A 1993 graduate of Brunswick High School, Dan went on to attend Southern Maine Technical College for Automotive Technology. He spent much of his childhood at his grandparents farm in Brunswick helping with the cows, horses and haying of the fields.
When he and his wife Tonia decided to settle down it was Richmond that caught their eye. The small town charm with numerous farms reminded him and his wife of their childhoods and they never looked back. Dan and Tonia have three (3) children, Alyssa, Cameron and Alex who attend Richmond schools.
Dan spent many years working in the Medical Equipment field and in 2004 wanted to be more involved in the community so he went to the Police Academy to become a Reserve Police Officer. Dan worked part time for the Richmond Police Department for five (5) years. During this time he also joined the Budget Committee and was nominated Chairman in 2009. In 2010, there was an opening for the Selectboard and he was elected in June to the position.
Dan is actively involved in the towns youth sports and volunteers as much time as he can to help the kids have fun. He enjoys working on the Board of Selectman and hopes to continue the positive growth the town has seen over the past ten years.
